Ribavirin is used in combination with other antiviral for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C virus infection (HCV) a viral infection of the liver. It works by reducing the amount of hepatitis C virus in your body, which may help your liver recover.

It is usually taken with food twice a day, in the morning and the evening. Take ribavirin at around the same time every day.

Talk to your doctor about the risks of taking ribavirin. Ribavirin may interact with other medications and inform him about all allergies/prescription/nonprescription drugs that you are taking.
